There is nothing quite like being in the middle of the jungle and feeling the aliveness of nature all around you.
Bali is a magical paradise. Its a place to experience great adventures, yoga, beautiful connections and breath taking moments. The “Bali experience” is an experience of a life time, something that words cannot describe. Bali is known as “The Island of The Gods”, It’s a cultural and spiritual place, that needs to be experienced in order to be truly understood.
As you journey through Bali, you will feel a sacred energy throughout the lands. Bali is not only known for its spiritualism, but for its kind people. The people in Bali are genuine, helpful, always smiling, and live happily with so little. They are unconditionally kind and very spiritual. You can learn so much by spending a few hours observing the people and the way they go through life. The Balinese people inspire me because they are always smiling and they truly appreciate every little thing.
Another great thing about Bali is that anyone and everyone can find something to enjoy. Whether you spend your time surfing the beautiful waves, relaxing on the white sandy beaches, hiking through the gorgeous jungles, white water rafting through the rain forest, practicing yoga, or enjoying food from a fantastic restaurant, you will definitely enjoy your time. The more I travel the more I realize that not even in my wildest dreams, could I ever imagine the beauty I’ve seen from these different lands. Bali continues to awaken my soul and open my heart. I’ve been to Bali 3 times over the past three years and I every time I leave Bali I feel more connected to the earth, more connected to my soul, and so inspired.
I am very excited to be co-hosting another yoga retreat in Bali with my mother and sister, through our hot yoga studio, Radiant Hot Yoga, next March 2018. We will be hosting a 10 day Yoga Retreat at the Padma Resort, in Bali. If you have never been to Bali, or you have never been on a yoga retreat, I definitely recommend experiencing both. They are life changing experiences that you will forever cherish. You are forever changed seeing the sun set on the other side of the world. These moments are to be experienced through your eyes and are meant to be felt in your heart.
When you travel to Bali, here is a Guide to some of the best BALI experiences.
PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE yoga while in Bali!
I’ve had some of my most magical yoga experiences in Bali! Bali is a sacred island where yoga and spirituality are highly appreciated. I had a few of the most profound experiences prating yoga in Bali.I remember prating yoga in the center of the jungle, with wildlife, creatures, and tropical plants surrounding me. What made this expense even more powerful was when thunder hit and rain poured down from the sky. I remember these magical moments vividly; as Mother Nature is in her most wild state, feeling the powerful energy radiate through my soul. When practicing yoga you not only receive a physical work-out out but you receive a spiritual awakening/ work-in. The yoga experience in Bali is something that MUST be experienced. It will change your life, as its changed mine!
Explore Earths gifts!
One of my favorite parts of Bali was adventuring though the jungles. There are so many gorgeous and untouched territories. The jungle holds so much life and beauty. My adventures were surreal. Getting to experience adventures while seeing wildlife, exotic plants, waterfalls, and rivers is something that you’ll remember forever. During my stay, I spent an hour and a half every morning, practicing yoga and meditating in the jungle, surrounding myself with nature.
I love walking through the Ubud Monkey Forest. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by TONS of excited and playful monkeys. There are monkeys everywhere of all different shapes, ages, and sizes. There’s a small admission fee to walk through the forest but it is definitely well worth it. I believe that this is one of the most exciting, adventurous and memorable things to do while in Bali! Don’t miss out on an exciting adventure as you encounter with these impressive creatures, visit the Monkey Forest while in Ubud!
Massages/ Body work
I LOVE BALINESE MASSAGES! Bali is known for its sacred body work. During my stay in Bali, I love to spend around two hours a day getting massages by the shore. The massages are phenomenal and quite inexpensive compared to other countries. One of the biggest things i miss while being back in LA is the healing body work that Bali offers. Enjoy the massages and don’t be afraid to receive to many, you’ll see/feel the difference in your mind and body.
White Water Rafting
Some of my greatest experiences on Earth have been white water rafting through the jungle in Bali! The Balinese jungles are pure magic. There is a power energy that flows through the tress and waters. There are so many different species of wildlife and plants. When you whitewater raft in the jungle, you truly immerse yourself into nature. Every time I travel to Bali, I have to experience white water rafting. The rapids can go pretty fast, but its for all levels of rafters. As you water raft, you’ll see tons of gorgeous waterfalls, hear monkeys and all sorts of animals, see different creatures, get rained on, laugh for hours, and smile. White water rafting in the jungle is a once in a life time experience; an adventure that will take your breath away, an experience you’ll remember forever.
Go see the gorgeous waterfalls! Allow your adventurous side to come out.
I think of waterfalls as pure magic. Some of my favorite adventures have been hiking through jungles discovering hidden waterfalls then taking a refreshing swim to cool off.
The waterfalls listed below are some of the most stunning waterfalls that I have ever seen and are a must see if you’re in Bali.
*TEGENUNGAN WATERFALL, BALI
*JEMBONG WATERFALL, BALI
*TUKAD CEPUNG WATERFALL, BANGLI, BALI
Balinese Dance Show
The Balinese people love dance and theatre. You can find amazing ritual shows with dancers an singers in magnificent costumes everywhere in Bali, whenever there is a spiritual celebration. The most popular performance in Bali is the Kecak Dance Show. You can find this show almost anywhere and any day in Bali. The male dancers are seated in a circle and create sounds with their mouths, while the females create a sacred dance, using all parts of their bodies, moving their eyes and performing majestic hand gestures. The performance is happens every night at 6PM and 8 pm. Every time I travel to Bali, I make it a priority to see this show. It blows my mind every time!
Experience a sacred temple experience.
Bali is called the “island of a thousand temples”. On almost every street you can find an ancient temple. Bali has more temples, per square foot, than anywhere in the world. Bali’s unique story as the only main Hindu territory in Indonesia has resulted in the construction of many of these gorgeous structures, which are the center of spiritual life for the Balinese. There is such powerful and sacred energy flowing through these temples. People with all different backgrounds, from all different parts of the island, come together at these temples and unite in spirituality. I’d highly recommend that you take a day to visit as many of these peaceful temples as you can. The most known temples are Hindu Uluwatu Temple, Tanah Lot, Uluwatu, Saraswati, Bedugul, and of course the Besakih temple.
Bali is a shopping paradise. I really enjoy spending some time scavenging the Balinese markets. You will find great appeal and beautiful treasures for very little of a cost. I highly recommend that you take a day to browse the trinkets and special Balinese products at the the markets in Central Ubud (especially the markets on Monkey Forrest Road). I always find the best stuff at these markets and everyone always loves the souvenirs I bring home.
Surfing is one of the main reasons people visit Bali. Bali offers world-class surfing opportunities, but it’s also one of the most affordable places in the world to learn the art of surfing. The waves in Kuta are perfect for beginners, for they break over soft sand, not corals. The waves in Uluwatu are extremely intense, but lots of fun.
Bali Spirit Festival
A popular yoga and spiritual festival in Ubud is the annual Bali Spirit Festival, usually in late March. This festival t has been around for many years and continues to bring yogis, musicians, dancers, and like-minded people together from all around the world. This festival celebrates the unity of Eastern and Western cultures. People from over 50 different countries come to this festival to practice yoga, see concerts, part take in workshops, dance, raise their vibrations.
I took my yoga retreat here for a day and everyone had a unique experience!
Take a moment to walk through the peaceful rice fields, it is an unforgettable experience! The rice terraces are stunning. You truly feel connected to the Earth because there is so much greenery around you. I recommend to spend some time walking through the rice fields and jungle paths along the Ayung River. Then, I suggest that you enjoy a picnic in a rice field pavilion. You will also have the opportunity to help local farmers plant rice and other crops. Bali wouldn’t be what it is without its luscious and beautiful rice terraces. You can find rice paddies with breathtaking panoramic views all over the island. You will definitely have a great time on this little adventure.
